A playlist can have a gentle landing

Think about the final song as part of the journey.

Music · Original writing

A playlist often starts with an intention and ends when you run out of songs to add. Try beginning with the ending instead. What kind of attention do you want to leave with?

Choose a final track for that purpose, then consider what should come immediately before it. The contrast matters as much as any single song: energy can settle gradually, or a quiet piece can arrive after something unexpectedly bright.

Listen to the transition rather than only scanning the titles. If the sequence feels abrupt, ask whether that interruption helps the experience you are trying to make. There is no obligation to smooth everything out.

Name the playlist after its occasion or feeling. Leave it small enough to listen through once. A considered ending can make a familiar collection feel newly complete.
