Give an AI draft a human destination

Decide who will use the result before asking for a draft.

Technology · Original writing

A polished paragraph can still miss its reader. Before requesting a draft, write one sentence naming the person who will use it and the action it should help them take.

A note for a colleague returning from leave needs different context from a public introduction. Include the relevant situation, desired tone, and limits. Keep private details out of a tool unless you have permission to share them.

When the draft returns, read it as that person. Are any claims unsupported? Does an instruction depend on knowledge they do not have? Replace vague confidence with something you can explain or verify.

The useful part of this process is the destination. You remain responsible for the message and its factual claims; fluent wording does not settle those questions. A draft has earned its place when it helps a real reader do something clearly.
