Sit somewhere comfortable with a trusted grown-up nearby. Listen for a few ordinary sounds. You might hear a fan, footsteps, or a page turning. You do not need to record anyone.
Draw a small symbol for each sound on paper. Put sounds that seem close near the centre and distant sounds near the edge. If you are unsure where one comes from, add a question mark.
Compare your map with someone else's. They may have noticed a sound you missed.
Finish by drawing a symbol for a quiet moment between the sounds. A map can include the pauses too.
