Choose an ordinary object nearby. Write five clues without using its name. Start with its shape, then what it does. Add a sound, a place it belongs, or something it reminds you of.
Here is an example: I can be round. I hold something. You may find me on a table. I sometimes have a handle. I can contain a warm drink. The answer is a cup.
Ask a reading partner to guess. If they choose another object that fits your clues, notice which clue you could make more specific.
Try a little activity
