Daro the dragon wanted the squirrel to come to tea. “COME TO TEA!” he boomed. The squirrel vanished behind a leaf.
Daro tried again from farther away. The leaf shook. A rabbit looked out of a hole. “Perhaps she cannot hear the words inside all that noise,” said the rabbit.
Daro borrowed a whisper. He put it carefully beside his teeth. “Would you like some tea?” The squirrel peeped around the leaf.
“Is there room for my friend?” she asked. Daro moved two cups onto the table. He did not whisper for the whole afternoon. But when he asked a question, he left enough quiet to hear the answer.
