Capture without collecting forever

Give captured tasks a route to a decision.

Getting Things Done — David Allen

Allen’s public workflow starts with capturing what holds attention, then clarifying what it means. Collection is one stage in a larger process; the list still needs decisions about action, reference, or things to set aside.

Our experiment: write five open commitments on paper. For each, choose a next action, a place to keep information, or a reason it can wait. Review the waiting items at a time you choose. Keep the exercise small enough to finish before adding more commitments.
