Thinking, Fast and Slow — Daniel Kahneman

Kahneman’s publisher describes a contrast between fast intuitive judgement and more deliberate thought. The model offers a way to notice how quickly an impression can become a conclusion. Deliberation is not a guarantee of correctness.

Our experiment: for an ordinary non-urgent choice, write your initial answer. Beneath it, list direct observations, assumptions, and one relevant uncertainty. Ask whether your confidence fits what you know. You may keep the same answer while changing how strongly you hold it.
