Reflective · Original writing
The room is quiet, the day is done,
A streetlight catches what is left of the sun.
I put the unfinished things out of sight,
And leave one window open to the night.
One more window, one more view,
One small beginning I can carry through.
No grand arrival, no perfect line,
Just a little space and a little time.
The kettle settles, the pages wait,
Some things are early and some things are late.
I do not need to make them all come right,
I leave one window open to the night.
Take a moment
Which line would you turn into the chorus?
